Rules for the SANReN CSC Qualification Round


General:

1 - Each team is expected to participate in the qualification round remotely.
2 - The qualification round will be open for 10 days. 3 - Registered teams will receive notification via email with credentials to access the platform on the day the qualification round opens (as per agreed dates)
4 - The qualification round with consist of a collection of Capture the Flag challenges.
5 - Hints are made available for certain challenges and used by teams at their own discretion. Used hints will not be reversed by the organisers.
6 - Please note that challenges submitted after the communicated closing date and time will not be considered.
7 - Attempted brute forcing of answers will be detected and blocked.
8 - Organisers will respond to participant queries by the next business day.
9 - The scoreboard will not be made public (this is because various universities will be participating at different times during the qualification round).
10 - The organisers will invite the top 10 teams to attend the final round at the CHPC National Conference - see Rules
11 - The organisers’ decision is final and no negotiations or correspondence with participations will be entered into.


Prohibited Actions:

1 - No hacking of the hosting platform or manipulation of the scoreboard.
2 - No sharing of flags or solutions with other teams (especially on the Discord server).
3 - No use of malicious software or tools that may negatively affect the hosting platform.
4 - No denial of service attacks against the hosting platform.
5 - No physical or social engineering attacks.
6 - No unauthorized access to other teams' systems or networks.
7 - No interfering with other teams' progress in the competition.
